Choice Tips
The Palace:
When driving from the north on 75 take exit 81 (forgo what the
signs say) and stay left to the light and maintain the left lane all the
way through the parking gates. (as long as you do not have prepaid VIP
parking) If you will be leaving to go north after the event, park parallel
to the gate leading back onto M-24, park close to the exit. You will see
other cars there and wonder why park way out here when there are many
spaces closer to the Palace. But you will find that you be on the highway
in minutes, compared to the long wait you will have at any other exit or
parking closer to the Palace.
Comerica Park:
When traveling south on I-75 from the Tri-Cities and Flint
take I-75 when it branches off to Toledo when you get to the Detroit city
limits, and take that to exit 50 which is Grand River and follow the
signs. I would try to park across from the Fox and Hockeytown Cafe, which
is right next to Comerica. I now have seen it and the park is competing
for the best in the majors!" - from Pete at Choice Tickets
There is a nice urban eatery (similar to Applebee's) called Muskies
directly across from the Palace. They have a shuttle that will take you
round trip to and from the Palace for a buck (plus optional tip) this is a
nice shuttle leaving every 15-20 minutes and holds well over 20 people.
Although They open at 5 p.m. and have a fair selection of entrees and
sandwiches as well as a fairly large beer selection, not much on
speciality drinks though. But soup and wings are good and a southwestern
chicken breast dinner is one of their specialties. Meals are about $10.00,
but can go up to 18.00. They stop serving dinner at 10pm and will serve
appetizers until midnight usually!!
VIP:
Upon entering the Palace stay right (toward the Palace) this is not
that bad when leaving as opposed to regular parking. You will have to
leave from where you entered and sometimes when trying to merge left to go
north, that exit is blocked by police for 45min after event is over. I
would recommend to stay on Lapeer Rd continue into Pontiac 2-3 miles go to
the Big Buck Brewery for awhile or just turn left at the Speedway (stop
light before the Brewery) and get on to 75 North that way.
